I believe that crying, laughing, and moving for someone else are acts of "kindness." I hope the world becomes peaceful and more compassionate.

Judge's Comment

I think the title Crying and Laughing for Someone is beautifully expressed through that single teardrop quietly drawn as the two people hug. The soft colors also enhance the gentle warmth that can be felt throughout the entire piece.

I was able to draw while recalling the warmth I felt when I interacted with the chick long ago.

Judge's Comment

The characters’ expressions are so gentle—they really bring a sense of calm to whoever’s looking at the piece. You can feel the warmth of the little chick, creating a wonderful, soothing scene.
