Judge's Comment
The figure of the child celebrating their mother embodies pure 'kindness.' The warm parent–child relationship that brings happiness to the viewer, along with the spirit of caring for others, represents an essential attitude that is also shared in healthcare.

When depicting "kindness," the first thing I consciously focused on was that "kindness is connected." I believe that someone’s kindness, consideration, and caring for others—those feelings that are not for oneself—become kindness for someone else. Even the smallest act of kindness can help the person receiving it, and in turn, they may help someone else with the kindness they received. I thought that kindness is interconnected in this way. Additionally, kindness is invisible, but it certainly exists and is connected; I represented this idea with bubbles to symbolize its intangible yet tangible presence.
Judge's Comment
This work conveys the idea that each act of compassion toward people, animals, and nature becomes "kindness," which in turn supports someone’s life and becomes a force that connects all living beings. The beautiful use of color also left a lasting impression on me.
